2017 Risk Management Seminar
Ten Things I’m Concerned About in the Practice of Dentistry (and you should be, too)
The practice of dentistry is experiencing change at an unprecedented rate. In this survey of the current environment, we will examine ten traditional or emerging sources of professional liability and/or regulatory risk faced by today’s practicing dentist. Topics which will be discussed include inadequate history and physicals, anesthesia risks, the patient as doctor, and patients with limited English proficiency (LEP). The format will be interactive lecture, with time allowed for Q & A.
This program is appropriate for dentists and staff members. At the conclusion of the program, you should be able to:
- List ten recognized sources of potential professional liability and/or legal risk common to the practice of dentistry;
- Evaluate their practice to determine its exposure to these risks;
- Explain strategies to ameliorate or eliminate these risk exposures.
