Maximize Employee Benefits Before Year-End

Your employee benefits package is an important part of your financial security, but many people leave value on the table each year. November is the time to take a closer look before benefits reset in January.

Use It or Lose It
Some benefits don’t roll over. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) are a good example. If you don’t use the funds by year-end, you could lose them. Schedule that dental cleaning, eye exam, or prescription refill before December 31.

Update Your Beneficiaries
Life insurance and retirement accounts require current beneficiary designations. Major life changes like marriage, divorce, or the birth of a child are reminders to review and update your information.

Check Your Coverage Levels
Do you have enough disability insurance through your employer? Is your life insurance coverage adequate for your family’s needs? Open enrollment gives you the chance to add or adjust coverage.

Take Advantage of Extras
Many plans offer wellness programs, mental health services, or vision and dental benefits. These perks can help you stay healthy and save money.

Plan Ahead for 2026
Review your usage and needs from this year. Adjust contributions and coverage levels now to make sure you’re prepared for next year.

Next Steps
Take 30 minutes to log into your benefits portal. Review balances, coverage, and extras. If you’re unsure about your needs, talk to your HR department or an insurance advisor.
