We feel strongly that the safety of our attendees, staff and speakers must come first. Therefore, we made the decision to change the format of our Dental Risk Management Seminar and HIPAA Course to a live webinar.
This year’s dental seminar topic will be: Preventing Dental Malpractice Claims by Avoiding and Managing Adverse Outcomes. Robert S. Thompson, RT, JD, MBA, LLM(DR), AIC, ARM, ARe, RPLU, CPCU will begin this claim-based educational program with an overview of the current dental malpractice environment, including issues specific to the state of Wisconsin. He also discuss the main risk management issues related to dental malpractice including informed consent, patient and team communication, follow-up system failures, jousting, patient selection and adverse outcome disclosure.
Our afternoon webinar will have Nan Dreves, RDH, MBA, presenting the course; HIPAA in Dentistry. Compliance with HIPAA and proper management of protected health information (PHI) are critical to any dental office. Not just to avoid government fines for noncompliance, but for doing the right thing with your patient’s information. By participating in this Dental Risk Management seminar, you can earn 3 continuing education credits and a may be eligible for a 7.5% risk management premium credit* for the next three policy renewals. If you attend the 2 hour HIPAA in Dentistry course, you will receive 2 continuing education credits.
